Roswell Food and Beverage Festival 2019

Date: Sunday, October 27th

Time: 2 pm (1 pm VIP)

About: You are cordially invited to a culinary experience and cutting-edge event where attendees, Roswell chefs, and spirit experts gather for a spectacular food and beverage adventure. Our indulgent all-inclusive tasting will take place in the Connexion Shopping Center Parking Lot (where From the Earth Brewing Co. is located) on Sunday, October 27th from 2-5 pm (VIP 1 pm). Guests will feast on a delicious journey tasting bites and beverages from Roswell’s finest restaurants, breweries, cafes and local joints. The Roswell F&B Festival has been created to further highlight one of Roswell’s core industries and tourism products throughout the City: our amazing food and beverage offerings. Spearheaded by Tim Stevens, owner of From the Earth Brewing Co., the Roswell F&B Festival Committee is made up of representatives from the community’s breweries, restaurants, wine markets, City of Roswell Special Events Committee, and Convention & Visitors Bureau. Recognizing that a true single-day food event has not occurred in quite some time, the committee has organized a 4-hr event, with an additional hour of VIP access. Tickets are $75 for general admission and $125 for VIP and can be found here. General admission includes 2 pm entry, unlimited food and drink tastings, and a killer F&B experience, while VIP includes early entry, VIP lounge by 13 Hub Lane, reserved wine selection, limited release beers from FTE like the Kentucky Cosmonaut, a whiskey barrel aged Imperial Stout, as well as a Berliner Weiss, and more. Roswell F&B Festival’s prime focus will be on local chefs and independently-owned restaurants. Participating restaurants will offer samples of a variety of menu offerings throughout the day. Beer, wine and cocktails will also be served throughout the event, and participants can expect to learn more about appropriate wine pairings and craft beer in general. However, most notably, the festival is different than a traditional “Taste of” event, in that it will feature interactive demonstrations throughout its duration. Attendees can expect to see demonstrations that include ceramic smokers, open fire cooking, mixology, and whole animal breakdown, to name a few. The event will also include a butcher demonstration, Wine 101 seminar, cocktails and beer from Roswell’s local bartenders and breweries. Restaurants include From the Earth Brewing Company, The Mill Kitchen & Bar, Ceviche, Vin 25, Bistro VG, Foundation, The Grub Gastro Pub, Citizen Soul, and many more, while also featuring a collaboration beer by From the Earth Brewing Company, Variant, and Gate City for everyone to taste!

Over 30 Top Chefs from Around the Southeast Will Compete for ‘Best Wing’ Title

The Fairmont at 1 pm

Springer Mountain Farms Southern Wing Showdown, the favorite all-inclusive summer festival celebrating unique takes on a Southern staple, will return for its fourth year on Sunday, August 25 at The Fairmont (1429 Fairmont Ave NW) in Atlanta’s West Midtown neighborhood from 1pm to 5pm.

Sponsored by Springer Mountain Farms and Big Green Egg and produced by Taste of Atlanta, the event will feature creative talent from over 30 prominent Southeastern chefs hailing from Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, including Atlanta’s Matt Basford of Canoe (2018 ‘Best Wing’ Winner) and Drew Van Leuvan of Seven Lamps, Charlotte’s Greg Collier of Loft & Cellar and more.

While enjoying wings and sides from acclaimed chefs, attendees can also sip beer, wine and specially crafted cocktails that complement chef creations. Local purveyor Springer Mountain Farms will provide chefs with chicken that’s raised without antibiotics, steroids, growth stimulants or hormones, and each chef will serve their unique recipe as they battle it out to win ‘Best Wing’ in a competition judged by festival goers and a panel of wing aficionados. The winner of Southern Wing Showdown will win a Big Green Egg to take home.

Angel Flight Soars, a volunteer pilot organization located at Dekalb Peachtree airport and providing flight services to patients in need of medical-related care, will be a nonprofit beneficiary for this event and will host a silent auction on-site. The festival will also support Second Helpings Atlanta – a nonprofit food rescue organization that fights hunger and reduces food waste in the city – who will be doing food recovery onsite.

Starting in June, tickets will be available for purchase online and will grant access to all-you-can-eat tastes and drinks, including signature cocktails, beer and wine, plus live music from Luke Latimer. There will be both General Admission and VIP tickets, with the first hour of the events reserved for VIP First Taster attendees. About Festival Performers
One of the biggest independent bands in history, Dispatch is an upbeat rock band that has made a name for themselves by selling out three shows at Madison Square Garden, going on world tours, and creating a non-profit, Calling All Crows. The band released their latest album, Location 13, last year and joined the list of six other studio albums produced during their career.

No stranger to the music industry, Greensky Bluegrass has been together for 18 years. Their impressive track record includes six studio albums, around 175 shows per year, and sold out concerts. Their high-energy bluegrass draws fans near and far, and the band is known for their unpredictable performances.

Philadelphia-based Dr. Dog is comprised of five musical talents who have created Indie music together for 15 years and have had multiple Top 50 albums. After taking some time apart, they are stronger than ever and have recently released their new album, Critical Equation.

Trampled by Turtles has traveled across the nation playing their American bluegrass/folk-rock music. Along the way, they have released eight albums, had three reach number one spots on the U.S. Billboard chart, and gained a huge fan base.

Born in Delaware but raised in Jamaica, Stephen Marley has been a musician his entire life. Performing with family while younger, he quickly realized his love of music and has since won five Grammy Awards, all for Best Reggae Album.
Larkin Poe is a roots rock ‘n roll sister duo comprised of Rebecca Lovell and Megan Lovell, descendants of tortured artist and creative genius, Edgar Allen Poe. After experimenting with an array of musical styles, they found a way to blend together a sound that channels their distinct voice.

Natives of Augusta, GA, Funk You tests the limits of music by combining multiple styles that lean towards dance-driven tunes complimented by strong vocals. They have played at multiple music festivals and toured across the nation.

Originating in Buffalo, Aqueous has performed at music festivals such as The Peach Music Festival, Jam Cruise, and Summer Camp along with selling-out shows across the U.S since 2006. Their music style is best described as “groove rock” and their shows leave fans wanting more.

Atlanta-based Webster has performed at numerous venues throughout Atlanta from small to large events, and their ever-evolving song list includes covers of Neil Young, The Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Van Morrison, Phish, REM, Ryan Adams, Dire Straits, Johnny Cash, and Railroad Earth among others.
