Thursday, June 2nd

Esat Atlanta Village Farmers Market

Urban fruit grower Fruit Forward Orchards and holistic wellness counseling service Real Connections will be hosting the Second Annual Serviceberry Festival in Atlanta on Thursday, June 2, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The ticketed event will take place in conjunction with the East Atlanta Village Farmers Market, at 572 Stokeswood Avenue SE in Atlanta.

“The festival celebrates all things serviceberry, also known in Georgia as juneberries,” said festival co-founder Robby Astrove, a dedicated forager who is also manager of the Davidson- Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve in east DeKalb County. “Attendees can enjoy these native wild berries in any number of tasty ways, from serviceberry jam to serviceberry popsicles to
serviceberry cocktails.”

Six local chefs and three mixologists will create serviceberry-themed menu items at the event, Nand attendees can also try wellness products and services using the fruit, including serviceberry facials and hand massages. World beats will be provided by DJ Santiago during the festival. Festival attendees are encouraged to bring their shopping baskets to visit the East Atlanta Farmers Market, which is adjacent to the festival.

Serviceberry Festival general admission tickets are $35 a person, and can be purchased in advance or onsite at the event. Entry fee includes ten tokens which can be used for food,
beverage and wellness services. Limited edition VIP tickets are available for purchase at the event; these tickets include all the benefits of the regular tickets but also include entry into the special “Juneberry Lounge,” with service by a dedicated bartender and exclusive GOAP serviceberry popsicles and picnic-style lounge seating.

The Second Annual Serviceberry Festival is sponsored by The Rounds and SoulShine Schools. Proceeds from the festival will benefit the creation of a serviceberry orchard at an Atlanta public school, to be planted in fall 2022 with free access to the general public.
