Buckhead’s flower fête of the season is back in Buckhead Village with the third annual Bodacious Blooms Flower Festival, slated to make its lively return Thursday, May 2 through Saturday, May 4. Stacked with design heavy hitters including nationally acclaimed London-based paper floral designer Zoe Bradley and Canaan Marshall, renowned Atlanta-based florist of HBO Max’s “Full Bloom” who is returning for his third consecutive year, the community-wide spectacle invites visitors and floral enthusiasts for a weekend of floral installations, hands-on floral workshops from expert floral designers, in-store events, and photo-ready moments.

Alongside Bodacious Blooms veteran florist Canaan Marshall, decorated paper floral designer Zoe Bradley will be joining the ranks this year from London as an acclaimed headliner to show her world-renowned paper sculptures and transform Buckhead Village with magical 3D masterpieces. Having journeyed along an uncommon path, Bradley is a fashion-trained artist who apprenticed with the late icon Alexander McQueen (where she helped create some of his key show pieces) before discovering her love of paper while making experimental, hand-pleated showpieces for Japanese fashion designer Michiko Koshino. With luxury clients ranging from Louis Vuitton, Dior and Estee Lauder to Tiffany & Co., Graff, and Christian Louboutin, Bradley’s work has been featured in publications around the world, including British Vogue, British Harper’s Bazaar, Wallpaper, and Italian Casa Vogue, as well as inclusion in several published books and exhibits in London, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, New York, Rio de Janeiro, and Sydney.

Recognized worldwide as a magician for turning a sheet of 2D paper into a monumental 3D stunners, Bradley will bring her talents to The Veranda, Buckhead Village’s outdoor public gathering space, where she will soon unveil a sensational art installation in celebration of this year’s Bodacious Blooms festival. 

Best known for his electric energy and knack for turning the everyday into elegant, decorated Southern designer Canaan Marshall will return for another weekend of show-stopping blooms, floral design workshops and meaningful conversations around the art of floral design, and is set to splash The Veranda’s interior space with a vibrant, live floral install.

From Macon to Atlanta and beyond, Marshall is known for his gorgeous tablescapes, over-the-top mantels, and breathtaking bridal bouquets. In addition to his appearance as a contestant on Season 2 of HBO Max’s Full Bloom, his work can be found in the pages of Southern Living, Modern Luxury, Flower Magazine, Traditional Home, and Macon Magazine.

For the third year, Jamestown’s Buckhead Village will be partnering with neighboring destinations including Shops Around Lenox, Peachtree Plaza, Atlanta Financial Center, Hyatt Place, The Intercontinental, The Kimpton Sylvan Hotel, Resurgens Plaza, PATH Museum, Buckhead Tower, and Buckhead Blooms for a walkable weekend with a budding line-up of ticketed events, flower brunches, still life workshops, and over-the-top installations across all properties. Meanwhile on property, Buckhead Village will host an array of live music, themed events, beverages and treats, and in-store happenings from restaurants and retailers including Alice + Olivia, Bella Cucina, Billy Reid, B.M. Meet three creatives known for curating florals throughout their designs and work: London-based paper artist Zoe Bradley; Atlanta-based floral designer Canaan Marshall; and interior designer Whitney Durham. Moderated by Ann Howe, Managing Director of Schumacher, the conversation will be centered around incorporating florals into the every day – both personally and professionally – and how florals inspire their respective crafts. 

Tickets are $75 and include wine provided by Wölffer Estate, light bites prepared by Brush Sushi, an exclusive gift bag, and access to Carousel Fine Arts’ evening event – Spring Reverie: A Contemporary Exploration of Eric Alfaro’s Transient Blossoms –  following the panel.

Friday, May 3, 11:30am-1:30pm at The Veranda at Buckhead Village

Canaan Marshall is returning to Buckhead Village to host a hands-on floral arrangement class in which participants will be guided in designing a breathtaking floral arrangement with Canaan’s signature effortless style. 

This floral experience will be an introductory class perfect for anyone who would like to learn to use everyday floral elements to enhance their next tablescape. Hosted by Buckhead Village, the workshop will take place in the beautiful, weather-protected, open-air pavilion called The Veranda – located at the corner of Bolling Way and Buckhead Avenue, across from Le Bilboquet. Attendees will be provided with florals, a vessel, and all necessary supplies to design a beautiful centerpiece to bring home. 

Tickets are $225 and include a centerpiece floral arrangement ($200 value), an apron & floral shears to use during the workshop, unlimited wine, rosé and non-alcoholic refreshments from Wölffer Estate, a delectable boxed lunch from Bella Cucina, and a three-hour parking validation (*applicable for Buckhead Village parking decks only, not valet).

buckheadRUN! – Livable Buckhead’s sixth annual 5K – returns! Livable Buckhead is encouraging runners of all ages and abilities to join the fun (and to bring their four-legged friends)! Runners can celebrate spring by dressing in flower-themed costumes and garb. Livable Buckhead will award prizes for the best flower costumes.

This year’s field of runners will follow a new USA Track and Field-certified course that begins at Lenox Square, follows PATH400 to Miami Circle then takes Piedmont Road and East Paces Ferry Road to Buckhead Village. buckheadRUN! is a 2025 Peachtree Road Race qualifier. 

In addition to awards for the fastest runners in various age groups, buckheadRUN! includes a “Fastest Fido” category, bandana giveaways for dogs, a pre-race hype event, and a post-race celebration. Register here.

Buckhead Village invites visitors for a day of chic floral installations, live music, sweet treats and in-store promotions! ATL Girl Gang will curate an outdoor, botanical-themed vendor market uplifting women-owned businesses, alongside a blooming floral truck, a vintage photo booth, flower-crown making stations, and yard games. Entry is complimentary and the first 100 guests will receive a special gift.

JOHNNY’S HIDEAWAY CELEBRATES 45 YEARS

This April, Johnny’s Hideaway celebrates 45 years of “dancing, dining, and cocktails,” as the equally iconic marquee promises at its entrance. This formula is tried and true for one of the Southeast’s most cherished nightclubs and has proven to stand the test of time.

The anniversary will be celebrated on Thursday, April 25, starting at 11 am, with specials on the menu, including $10 cocktails and $4.50 beer and wine offerings all day.

When the club opened its doors during the Carter administration, the hit songs playing on the dance floor were from 45 RPM vinyl records. Now, the music is played digitally, and the number 45 is for the candles needed to mark the years the beloved Atlanta institution has been drawing faithful patrons seeking a stiff drink and lively dance floor. For many bars and restaurants, the name of the game is changing and updating as demographics shift and tastes change. For Johnny’s, the secret is keeping everything as familiar and recognizable as possible.

From the decor to the music to the menu, all the way down to the glassware, it is a labor of love for owner Chris D’Auria to keep things the way they’ve always been. “We go to great lengths to make sure everything looks the same. Some people think we don’t change one light fixture or make any updates. We do, but we make sure it is just like what was there before. We replace the carpet every two to three years, but it’s always the same kind. It’s hard to find the chairs we use and the upholstery for the bar tops. We order in bulk and keep inventory in storage so we can swap out when it’s time.”

Johnny’s caters to the over-40 crowd and late-night revelers in their 20s and 30s, and it boasts a disco ball and an energetic dance floor that never disappoints. Whether guests have been coming for decades or are visiting for the first time, they can expect to hear familiar tunes. D’Auria says, “When guests come in, whether 21 or 91, they know they will hear the Temptations, Michael Jackson, and the Beach Boys. And they might occasionally hear a Taylor Swift or Bruno Mars song, but they know they will hear their favorites with music from all genres.”

D’Auria says their “meat and potatoes” playlist is not incidental. “We painstakingly comb through the music and ensure it stays the same. We may skew younger with some of our guests now, but the song list doesn’t change. We only sprinkle in a new song a few times a year.”

Not only do guests know the songs and the furnishings, but they also know the friendly staff, who are like family to D’Auria. “I am what I am because of my staff. I have six that have been with me for more than 20 years. Without the fantastic staff and the great customers, the Hideaway wouldn’t still be here.”

Johnny’s is open late seven nights a week, closing at 3 a.m. every night except for Sunday, when the music stops at midnight. Yet another tradition is the closing song that plays just before the lights come on. D’Auria says most staff members would be reluctant to name a preferred song from Johnny’s catalog, but they all smile when they hear the first notes of “My Way” by Frank Sinatra because they know they are wrapping up another great night of providing good food, good drinks, and good times for their guests. It is a fitting finale at a venue that has been doing it “their way” for 45 years and is still going strong.

GEORGIA ORGANIC’S 13TH ANNUAL ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATO FESTIVAL STRIKES AGAIN!

Georgia Organics’ longstanding fundraiser, the Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival, is back! Join a lively crowd of over 1,000 of Atlanta’s most passionate local food enthusiasts on July 28 from 3-6 PM at Westside Motor Lounge as Georgia Organics dives headfirst into the 13th year of its epic tomato-tasting showdown. 

This iconic tasting festival features a carefully curated lineup of some of the Southeast’s most formidable chefs and bartenders showcasing their culinary prowess with dishes and cocktails crafted from tomatoes grown by Georgia farmers. Previous participating chefs include luminaries like Terry Koval (The Deer & The Dove, B-Side), Steven Satterfield (Miller Union), Deborah VanTrece (Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours), Hector Santiago (El Super Pan), and Ford Fry (Rocket Farm Restaurants). 

Attendees will traverse the festival grounds sampling dishes and cocktails, all while being entertained by live performances, including Djs, puppets, and roving musicians, A lively auction will feature coveted items – dinners, excursions, and more – curated for the food and farm lover. The event will culminate in a delightfully campy ceremony crowning the Tomato Champion of 2024. 

Among the culinary participants are chefs and bartenders from Georgia Organics’ Farmer Champion network – a growing roster of culinary professionals across sectors recognized for their dedication to purchasing from local and organic farmers. Launched in 2019, the Farmer Champion program supports professionals dedicated to sourcing locally and organically, thereby nurturing Georgia’s diverse patchwork of small farms. 

Natasha Paracha, Georgia Organics’ Director of Events states, “Through the celebration of local farmers and culinary artisans at the Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival, we’re not just savoring delicious dishes, we’re cultivating a deeper connection to our community, supporting local regenerative agriculture, and nourishing the roots of Georgia’s rich culinary landscape.” 

Since 2008, this event has been Georgia Organics’ primary fundraiser, powering its mission to invest in organic farmers for the health of our communities and the land. True to this mission, all tomatoes at the Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival are purchased from local farms who are recognized and honored at the event.

Tickets go on sale to the public at 12 PM on Monday, April 15. General admission tickets are $100. VIP tickets are $250 and include early festival entry, access to the exclusive VIP Lounge, specialty beverages, and a collectors’ “swag bag” upon entry. Iconic entertainment destination swings into spring with weekly yoga, restaurant specials, musical performances and more!

This month, The Battery Atlanta has a full lineup sure to help guests celebrate the start of the anticipated spring season. Visitors can enjoy free yoga classes on the Plaza Green every away-game Monday, and Twilight Tours continue at Truist Park. March Madness continues at Live! at The Battery Atlanta for the Final Four and the Championship, and the eateries will once again host UFC Fight Night. The music is nonstop at the Coca-Cola Roxy this month with performances from Offset to The Brothers Osborne. Park Bench parties are back with a calendar packed full of karaoke nights, dueling pianos and more! Returning restaurant promotions include Jazz Brunches, Prime Rib Wednesdays and Sunday Supper at Garden & Gun Club.

Wellness Series: Yoga by Kaiser Permanente

Westside Motor Lounge has joined forces with Crawfish For A Cause for Mental Awakening 2024, the fourth installment of the popular charity fundraising festival supporting mental health awareness and suicide prevention efforts. This year’s event is slated for Friday, April 5 and Saturday, April 6, 2024, and promises festival goers two high-energy days filled with live music, plenty of crawfish, delicious eats, cold drinks, art and more. Beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday and 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, this year’s festival features an impressive lineup of live music performances on the Summit Stage, Westside Stage and in the Vibe Lounge. Forsyth County’s mixed-use village invites the community to play, shop, dine and experience what’s new

Halcyon welcomes the spring season with sunny skies, warmer weather and a fun-filled calendar of events in April! Kick off the month watching the Masters Tournament at Cherry Street Brewpub; enjoy live music every weekend jamming to local bands at Groovin’ on the Green; celebrate fan-favorite farm animal yoga returning this month; shop from a variety of local, handmade products and gifts at the Halcyon Spring Artists Market; and take advantage of the spring weather by dining on one of the many outdoor patios at Halcyon’s restaurants.

Groovin’ on the Green

Fridays and Saturdays in April from 6 – 9 p.m.

Celebrate the weekend by dancing and singing along to live musical performances on Village Green. Enjoy local musicians across a variety of genres playing top hits. Preschoolers are invited to play and make new friends at Halcyon’s free Kids Club! Enjoy rotating activities each week ranging from arts and crafts, dance, animal encounters, story time, puppet shows, music and so much more. Themes and activities vary each week and will be announced on Halcyon’s Facebook page and Instagram stories. A parent or guardian is required to stay with each child during the event. Farm Animal Yoga

Mooove on over to Halcyon for Farm Animal Yoga, featuring live animals from North Georgia Wildlife Park! Treat your mind and body to a relaxing session of yoga appropriate for all skill levels, accompanied by adorable furry friends. The entertainment destination is leveling up their Home Opener Watch Party.   • Silent Saturday: Silent Disco Party (Sat., May, 25, 9pm-1am) – Guests can put on some headphones and dance and sing all night long at Live! at The Battery’s monthly silent disco parties.   • Live! Goes ‘90s (Sat., June 8, 8pm until close) – Live! at the Battery is going back in time for their annual Live! Goes ‘90s party. Guests can dust off their track suits and relive the nostalgia of their favorite decade as they are transported back to a time of neon lights, mixtapes and iconic pop culture references. The night will include old school hits from a ‘90s-themed DJ, adult juice pouches, instagrammable moments, giveaways and games like Twister and Connect 4.   • NFC #162 Fight Night (Fri., June 21) – Live! at the Battery will host another National Fighting Championship (NFC) event this June. The adrenaline-filled night will feature live professional and amateur MMA, Muay Thai and Kickboxing fights taking place in a ring in the middle of Sports & Social. Attendees will have the chance to be a part of the non-stop action during 12+ Fights in the NFC cage at one of the most exciting and new environments for watching live fights, plus, fan-favorite drinks and an official after party next door at PBR. Get ready to enjoy America’s beloved hands-on meal—chicken wings—at the highly anticipated Atlanta Wing Fest, presented by Taste of Atlanta. This ultimate wing showdown is set to take flight at Uptown Atlanta, Atrium Towers, located at 570 Main Street, Atlanta, GA 30324, on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 6-10pm.


Atlanta Wing Fest promises an evening of craveable wings & things, desserts, bottomless beverages, music by DJ Tron, cooking and mixology demonstrations, and more. Chefs will provide grilled, fried and smoked wings with many unique flavors — tangy barbecue to spicy Sriracha, zesty lemon pepper to sweet and savory teriyaki. Attendees will embark on a flavor journey, sampling a variety of wings from 25 local restaurants from all around Atlanta.

Ticket buyers will have the opportunity to cast their votes for the coveted titles of “Best Wing,” “Best Bev,” and “Best Dessert” of the night, adding an element of friendly competition to the festivities.


The event kicks off at 7:00 p.m. and will run until 10:00 p.m., with VIP ticket holders granted early entry at 6:00 p.m. VIP tickets are available for $95, while General Admission tickets are priced at $85. Both ticket tiers offer all-inclusive access to unlimited wing samples, bottomless tastings of local beer, wines from around the world and craft cocktails, live music, DJ and interactive entertainment options. THE INTERLOCK IN WEST MIDTOWN CELEBRATES THIRD ANNIVERSARY

The vertical mixed-use destination to host a community picnic in Highline Park, reflects on growth 

The Interlock, the nine-acre mixed-use development in West Midtown, will celebrate three years as a gathering place for the community this March. Driven by West Midtown’s tech and population boom, The Interlock has evolved into a thriving destination with experiential attractions, unique retail and chef-infused dining. On Saturday March 23, the community is invited to celebrate the milestone with a Picnic in the Park at Highline Park. 

“The rapid rise of West Midtown in recent years inspired the need for more dining, shopping and entertainment options to accommodate the growing population; thus, The Interlock was born,” said Shawn J. Tibbetts, President and Chief Operating Officer at Armada Hoffler, which owns The Interlock. “Three years later, we reflect on the success of the project by inviting the community to an afternoon of celebration.”

The Interlock’s third anniversary picnic will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m at Highline Park, the greenspace located on Beeline Boulevard. Guests can expect photo opportunities, delicious picnic-style food, frozen drinks and live music. Picnic in the Park is free to attend; food and beverage costs will vary. The Interlock offers free lunch parking during the week. 

West Midtown’s population has more than doubled since 2000, per U.S. Census Bureau data. The neighborhood is home to a remarkably young cohort of largely Millennials and Gen Zers, with more than 78% of residents born after 1981, according to a Cushman & Wakefield analysis. To match the growing demand and young population, The Interlock has welcomed a variety of experiential offerings, such as Puttshack, The Escape Game and Sandbox VR, along with diverse restaurant and retailers.

The Interlock is a private-public partnership with Georgia Institute of Technology. Armada Hoffler acquired the project in May 2023 from SJC Ventures, but provided significant development and construction expertise as well as mezzanine financing at the project’s inception. SJC Ventures remains the owner of Interlock Tower. Atlanta Neighborhood Presents a Month-Long Showcase of Diverse Dining Options and Exciting Events

 Summerhill, the vibrant Atlanta neighborhood known for its eclectic dining and shopping scene, invites locals and visitors alike to take advantage of a variety of special offerings and events in March. From inventive brews to new dishes, Summerhill’s restaurants offer a diverse array of flavors to satisfy every palate.

Plus, on Thursday, March 28th at 3:00pm, Summerhill is hosting the ultimate Braves Opening Day Block Party! Celebrate the start of the Braves’ season as they face off against the Phillies away in Philadelphia. This year marks the 50th anniversary of Hank Aaron’s historic 715th home run, and Summerhill is commemorating it by bringing the Atlanta celebration back to where it all began.
