Posted by Liz and John Attaway, 5/5/23

Reservations for Early Ticketing to This Once-a-Month Series Launch Thursday, April 27, 2023

Take a trip to the world’s hottest destinations without a passport, plane ticket, or carry-on at Slater Hospitality’s award-winning Rooftop L.O.A. This summer, L.O.A. is inviting guests to depart from the ordinary and relive some of their favorite international vacations in the heart of Atlanta with a new summer series, Departure Saturdays. While L.O.A. is already an escape within itself, with coastal inspired décor, gardenesque scenery, and stunning panoramic views of Atlanta’s city skyline, each Departure Saturday will provide guests with an unforgettable experience themed around a different place from across the globe.

Departure Saturdays will completely transport attendees, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the authentic food, music, and overall culture of well-known global destinations. Taking place once a month all summer long, each event will feature a live DJ playing music that reflects the atmosphere of each city, along with a coordinating laser light display, a menu curated with dishes and cocktails inspired by the city’s authentic cuisine, and entertainment in the form of dancers and unique experiences that match the destination.

Read on for more details for each of Rooftop L.O.A.’s 2023 Departure Saturday dates:

  • May 20, 2023 – St. Tropez: Renowned for its breathtaking beach clubs, luxurious yachts, and exclusive parties, St. Tropez is the ultimate French Riviera getaway. While being a popular jet-setting destination, the coastal town still holds onto its roots and remains a fantastic location for taking in real French culture and history while popping bottles, wearing sunnies, and indulging in decadence.

  • June 17, 2023 – Tulum: Tulum’s acclaim has grown immensely over the past few years, with celebrities, influencers, and travel enthusiasts alike adding and checking it off their bucket lists. It’s no wonder as to why with white sand beaches next to beautiful turquoise blue waters and an array of incredible sights, including Mayan Ruins and the iconic “Ven a La Luz,” the Mexican city is a must-visit destination.

  • July 15, 2023 – Cape Town: Sitting near the southernmost tip of South Africa, Cape Town is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful places in the world. There are few cities that offer views of nature quite as picturesque as those of Cape Town’s Table Mountain or Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden. Along with magnificent scenery, Cape Town’s experience includes upscale shopping, dining, and distinctive activities.

  • August 19, 2023 – Mykonos: The Aegean Island of Mykonos is nothing short of charming. The incredible deep blue waters, immaculate Mediterranean cuisine, and distinguishable views of its white hilltop homes are just some of the elements that make Mykonos such a phenomenal getaway.

  • September 30, 2023 – Rio De Janeiro: Lively, colorful, and full of culture, Rio De Janeiro is one of the world’s most recognizable cities. Millions travel to Rio every year for the chance to partake in the biggest celebration on the globe, Brazilian Carnival, but even outside of the famed festival, Rio is a slice of paradise for those who visit.

Rooftop L.O.A.’s departure to St. Tropez is taking flight in partnership with La Fête du Rosé. Produced in the Gulf of St. Tropez with the prestigious winemakers of Saint-Maur, La Fête du Rosé expertly embodies the lifestyle and ethos of the city. As guests enjoy the sounds of St. Tropez with musical selections in the style of Deep House, Amapiano, and more, they’ll experience a taste of the city in the form of La Fête du Rosé. Beverage partnerships and DJs for each Departure Saturday date to be announced.

Guests can escape to each location from 6 p.m. to midnight with cuisine, cocktails, music, and entertainment throughout L.O.A.’s expansive Pool Club, Restaurant, and Grove. Tickets to Atlanta’s hottest summertime event will launch on Thursday April 27, 2023, and can be purchased at www.RooftopLOA.com. General Admission tickets will start at $50.

Rooftop LOA Brunch

Posted by Liz and John Attaway, 10/4/22

The grove with firepits, lush seating, and beautiful trees sprawls out in front of you and on your right is the covered lounge space with firepit and view of the downtown Atlanta Skyline. To your right is a large bar serving the grove and just beyond that the wooden door to the large pool. It’s dotted with lounge chairs, umbrellas, upscale cabanas, and an indoor, outdoor bar that has retro 80’s vibes. Next to this is the beautiful restaurant with large bar and retro seating, it is reminiscent of the Golden Girls! This is Rooftop L.O.A! The views are stunning and now you can enjoy them for brunch too! Everything from delicious benedicts, burgers, egg dishes, Bostock, and even bottomless mimosas!

Up first, we selected to try the bottomless mimosas with three different flavors: orange, turmeric Passionfruit, and Watermelon Basil. You can try all three, stick with one, or mix it up. My favorite was the turmeric passion fruit that was sweet and herbaceous. To pair with our mimosas we started with the Eggs Diablo, a moat of earthy and tangy tomato with savory eggs on top that you mix in for savory. It is paired with buttery bread to dip. Plus, the off-menu traditional eggs benedict with salty ham, savory over-easy egg, and a fantastic cheese-filled bun. We asked for the caviar hollandaise that was both salty and savory, it was the perfect accoutrement.

For our main dishes, the Brunch Burger hit the spot. One part seasoned, perfectly cooked beef topped with cheese, a savory, runny egg, thick-cut bacon, and a fantastic truffle aioli. On the side, the fries were perfectly crispy and warm. With our savory burger, we opted for Bostock. They’re take on a French toast with THICK saturated bread, warm, and sweet topped with tangy grapefruit, crunchy almonds, and ginger. The juxtaposition of the ginger and the sweet bread was divine, not to mention the ginger syrup that is literally icing on the cake. Both of these were amazing.

On our way out we stopped by the pool for a cocktail, the Sherry Colada was amazing with sweetness, cinnamon, and tiki vibes. We could stay here ALL DAY. Make sure you budget a half a day to check out all the spaces and enjoy a leisurely long brunch, a walk in the grove, and a sip by the pool.

ROOFTOP L.O.A. OFFSETS ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT WITH SUSTAINABLE INITIATIVES & GREEN TECHNOLOGY

Posted by Liz and John Attaway, 4/29/22

Solar Hybrid System Supplements Over 15 Percent of Energy for the Restaurant, Pool + Grove and Smart Windows Increase Efficiency by up to 20 Percent

Rooftop L.O.A., the soon-to-open, world-class resort-style Restaurant, Pool, and Grove atop The Interlock in West Midtown, is equipped with state-of-the-art green technology designed to increase efficiency for the entire rooftop. Situated nine stories above Atlanta lies a 38,000-square-foot rooftop featuring a 118-kW solar hybrid system, which heats the 1,200-square-foot resort-style Pool and provides electricity throughout the rooftop, plus self-tinting windows and doors that change intelligently throughout the day based on real-time conditions and increasing efficiency.

The solar hybrid system, which consists of 77 interconnected panels spread out across two roofs and represents a $550,000 investment for Slater Hospitality, is unique for hospitality and culinary concepts. While solar panels are becoming more typical for commercial buildings and offices, carbon offsets via solar panels are quite uncommon for restaurants and resorts. Rooftop L.O.A.’s innovative solar hybrid system supports electricity and hot water for the entire rooftop, which includes the 8,000-square-foot full-service Restaurant and three bars throughout. Their sustainable efforts designated Rooftop L.O.A. as a Green Energy Project by the Small Business Administration.

Another element of the rooftop’s sustainability is View Smart Windows. Not only do the windows increase energy efficiency by up to 20 percent and reduce cooling cost by up to 30 percent, but they also increase access to natural light and unobstructed, 360° views of Atlanta’s skyline. By eliminating the need for blinds and shades, and minimizing heat and glare, the Rooftop L.O.A. guest experience is comfortable and sophisticated. Complete with car charging stations in the parking garage, the entire Interlock property is tech-forward.

“As we began concepting for Rooftop L.O.A., it was important to us to consider our environmental impact and we had the opportunity to take an innovative approach in creating this space from scratch,” said Slater Hospitality CFO, Brett Hull-Ryde. “We wanted to be efficient and sustainable, all while remaining aligned to our ‘people-first’ value, which is at the center of everything we do at Slater Hospitality.”

Rooftop L.O.A. is also minimizing single-use plastic with pasta straws and Vero Water for premium filtered water without the plastic bottle and the waste. Furthermore, L.O.A. staff uniforms supplied by Alex Crane are made with 100% sustainably sourced linen, which is a renewable and natural material.
