Art, Festivals & Weekend Plans: AFFPS Drops Fall + Holiday Lineup

The city’s most walkable parks and vibrant neighborhoods set the stage for this year’s AFFPS fall and holiday arts festivals, featuring hundreds of artists, local bites, and festive vibes from August through November.

Countdown to Fall at the Piedmont Park Arts Festival – August 16-17

Recognized as one of the best outdoor festivals in Atlanta, the Piedmont Park Arts Festival returns to the heart of Midtown on Saturday, August 16, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Presented by the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces and held in picturesque Piedmont Park, the festival will feature approximately 200 artists including painters, photographers, sculptors, leather and metalworkers, glass blowers, jewelers, and crafters. Festival enthusiasts are also invited to enjoy Feelgood in the Park, a two-day inclusive house and disco dance party presented by Captains of Revelry, featuring DJs from across the city. Celebrate Creativity at Sandy Springs Fall Arts Festival – September 13-14

Sandy Springs Fall Arts Festival  returns on Saturday, September 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Featuring more than 125 painters, photographers, sculptors, leather and metal craft persons, glass blowers, jewelers and more, the festival will transform the beautiful tree-lined streets of Sandy Springs into an expansive outdoor art gallery. Festival goers will have the opportunity to view artist demonstrations, participate in hands-on art activities, and enjoy a live DJ. The award-winning, two-day festival will also have a children’s area and a variety of food trucks for all tastes. Live Artfully at the Fall Festival on Ponce – October 11-12

DULCÉ SLOAN HEADLINING FIVE-SHOW SET AT LAUGHING SKULL LOUNGE JULY 24-26

Acclaimed Comedian Returning to Venue that Launched Her Career 

After making a splash in Los Angeles and beyond, Dulcé Sloan will bring her stand-up comedy talent home to Atlanta with a three-day stop at Laughing Skull Lounge over July 24-26.  

These shows are a return to Sloan’s roots, as she spent much of her childhood in Atlanta, performed her debut show at Laughing Skull Lounge in 2009, and became a resident comedian at the venue.  

Her star continued to rise in Atlanta’s comedy scene, but her big break was in 2015 when she was named one of comedy’s Best New Faces at Montreal’s Just for Laughs comedy festival and won the “StandUp NBC” showcase.  

Sloan then went on to appear on “Conan” and “The Steve Harvey Show” and became a correspondent on “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” in 2017. In 2019, she headlined her own Comedy Central special that was named one of the best comedies of 2019 by The New York Times.  

“We gave her a lot of love here, and she’s gone on to do incredible things. We’re proud that she used to perform at our stage before she had so much success,” says Bob Place, general manager of Laughing Skull Lounge. 

Now Sloan is looking forward to sharing new material with her hometown crowd. “I am very excited to be back at the Laughing Skull and look forward to sharing my new hour with them,” says Sloan. “It’s the most personal hour I have ever written.”

Roll Up for Another Month of Pop-Up Circus Magic Including Caricatures, Tarot Card Readings, Balloon Art, and More

Haven’t made it to the circus yet? Amore e Amore is keeping the magic alive all July long with its  Under the Big Top experience. Night after night, the beloved Italian ristorante in the heart of Inman Park delivers a parade of surprises alongside its signature dishes and crowd-pleasing cocktails—perfect for anyone looking to add a little spectacle to their summer.

Throughout the month, guests can glimpse the future with a Tarot card reader on July 1, 11, 17, and 22; marvel as balloon animals come to life on July 3, 5, 10, 16, 18, 27, and 30; and embrace a new persona with face painting on July 2, 9, 15, 20, 24, and 29. The caricature artist also returns to capture playful portraits on July 4, 12, 13, 19, 23, 25, 26, and 30.
