Experiments with technology and art will converge at atlast, a new globally positioned gallery based in Atlanta, Ga. dedicated to experiments with technology and art. For its first exhibition, “This is Just a Test”, the gallery will host an opening night celebration at Aftercar social house in the Old Fourth Ward on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The evening will feature a mix of 10 dynamic artists, both upcoming and established, 20 unique works of art, the sound stylings of DJ Ree de la Vega and Cris Kai, live performances, interactive exhibits, food, drink and more.
Collaborating with each other and the most cutting edge technologies, artists Kris Pilcher, Bojana Ginn, Alicia Renee Ball, Ellex Swavoni, Pablo Gnecco, El Lewis, Michi Meko, Cait Lamas, Fahamu Pecou, and Lisette Correa, have created a substantial, interactive and meaningful collection of both physical and digital works.
“We’re thrilled to launch atlast and showcase the works of exceptional artists in concert with incredible and pioneering technology”; said Courtney Hammond, chief curator and creative director of atlast. “The atlast team and partners, a group of experts from all corners of the globe, have built this gallery model over the past year as a social, cultural and financial experiment to rethink how we buy, sell, and engage artists, artwork and art ownership in our daily lives. I look forward to the public participation and reaction.”
During the event, guests will have an opportunity to mix and mingle with the artists and explore their works that include interactive light works for interiors, custom fashion and jewelry concept showrooms, custom light and color therapies, animated holograms, storytelling portals and more. Pieces will be available for sale that evening beginning at 6 p.m. EST at the event and globally via the cyber gallery at https://atlast.world. A portion of proceeds will benefit the ACVB Foundation, Inc. to support its mission to work with local, non-profit cultural institutions to encourage public awareness, financial support for art, cultural, and historical organizations.
