The all tour ticket includes Fox Bros. BBQ pulled pork sandwich & chips, guided tasting of 3 samples of our whiskies, including both the single malt released here (White Dog) and a cocktail if you so choose, a tour of the distillery,  and live Bluegrass is $20. There will also be an apron fashion show and live auction emceed by Chef Chris Hall (Local Three) featuring blow-up prints of calendar outtakes.

At the event, guests will enjoy food and beer from local Atlanta restaurants and breweries. YUMBII TO OPEN YUMBII TACO SHOP THIS OCTOBER!

Posted by Liz and John Attaway, 7/9/16

YUMBII—ATLANTA’S FIRST & FAVORITE FOOD TRUCK—

WILL OPEN ITS FIRST BRICK & MORTAR RESTAURANT,

YUMBII TACO SHOP, IN SOUTH BUCKHEAD THIS OCTOBER

Menu of Street Food Classics Blends Asian, Mexican & Southern Flavors

Yumbii, Atlanta’s first and favorite food truck, will open its first brick-and-mortar restaurant, Yumbii Taco Shop, in South Buckhead at 1927 Peachtree Road NE this fall. Set in Brookwood Village on Atlanta’s main road, the location is the first in a series of openings planned for the beloved and expanding brand. The 1440-square-foot restaurant will showcase a bright and modern look, with counter service for easy takeout and inviting seating for dine-in guests.

“We’ve been overwhelmed and humbled by the enthusiastic response to Yumbii over the last six years,” said Yumbii founder and Atlanta native Carson Young. “Now, we couldn’t be more excited to lay down roots in a permanent space.”

Yumbii food truck’s global, street-food-inspired menu fuses Asian and Mexican flavors, with favorites including panko-crusted fish tacos, Asian rib-eye Philly’s, spicy pulled pork sliders, and sides like sesame fries with sriracha cheese dip. Signature toppings include cucumber kimchee, hoisin-tartar sauce, soy sesame salad, and more. The brick-and-mortar space will introduce an expanded menu, with additional items like breakfast tacos, salads, Mexican-style street corn, and rice bowls.

This news follows the recent announcement that Yumbii has introduced a state-of-the-art “Super Food Truck” to its fleet. The first of its kind on the East Coast and customized for Yumbii in Los Angeles, the eco-friendly, low-emissions Super Food Truck runs on diesel. It’s highly fuel-efficient engine employs a state-of-the-art technology that converts exhaust into harmless nitrogen gas and water vapor, thereby reducing emissions and lessening the vehicle’s environmental imprint.

Founded by native Atlantan Carson Young (32-years-old), Yumbii pioneered Atlanta’s food truck movement, rolling out the city’s first food truck in 2010. The beloved brand has received an outpouring of accolades over the years, including Atlanta Magazine’s “Best Food Truck,” Creative Loafing’s “Readers’ Choice for Best Food Truck,” and The Atlanta Journal Constitution’s “Best of the Big A.”

Yumbii’s well-known and brightly painted vehicles will continue to pop up all over the city. Yumbii also offers catering options for weddings, private parties, corporate events, and movie sets. To follow Yumbii’s travels and find the truck nearest to you, follow @Yumbii on Twitter.

TO HOST TASTING ROOM GRAND OPENING WEEKEND,

THURSDAY, JULY 7th – MONDAY, JULY 11th

Brewery has been Closed for Highly Anticipated Expansion Since 2015

Second Self Beer Company will host a Grand Opening weekend to welcome guests at its expanded brewery and tasting room in Atlanta’s Westside at 1317 Logan Circle NW. The Georgia craft brewery opened in Atlanta in fall 2014, and due to demand, its production has been at capacity since March 2015. With new tanks, an in-house canning line, and other brewing equipment, Second Self will increase production by ~150%.

Opening weekend hours are:

  • Thursday, July 7th, 6-8pm
  • Friday, July 8th, 6-8 pm
  • Saturday, July 9th, 1-4pm
  • Sunday, July 10th, 2-4 pm
  • Monday, July 11th, 6-8 pm

Second Self’s Grand Opening weekend will feature tours of the brewery and new tasting room, which has tripled in size and accommodates up to 180 guests. Square Feet Studio—an award-winning architecture, planning, and design firm based in Atlanta—designed the new tasting room. Features include a 24-foot butcher-block bar, a separate kitchen for catered events and regular chef pop-ups, reclaimed wood tables, and much more.

The first 50 tickets for each day of Grand Opening weekend are $10, available to purchase online here, and will be $15 thereafter. Tours during the event will include tastings of up to 36 oz. of Second Self beer samples on draft, and guests will also take home a Grand Opening souvenir glass. Food from local vendors will be available for purchase, and live music will include Atlanta-based bands Kay Dene on Friday and Station 7 on Saturday. Additional bands will be announced closer to the event.

For Grand Opening weekend, Second Self will be pouring an exciting selection of much-loved brews, including year-round favorites Thai Wheat and Red Hop Rye, recent seasonal releases Citrus IPA, Maverick & Gose, Mole Porter, and new beers brewed exclusively for the Grand Opening: Funky Mole (Mole Porter finished with wild yeast), Raspberry Gose and Grapefruit Gose (based on Maverick & Gose), and two brand new pilot beers: a Caraway and Black Pepper Saison and a Hoppy Brown Ale.

After opening weekend, Second Self’s tasting room will be open to the public each week on Monday, Thursday and Friday from 6pm to 8pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 1pm to 4pm (closed Tuesday and Wednesday).

During the first 22 days of opening, Second Self will offer $2 off all tours and merchandise to celebrate the 2nd tasting room opening during their 2nd year of business. The brewery will resume its schedule of regular events, like “Comedy Night” on the last Monday of every month and “Yoga and Hoppiness,” a periodic yoga class followed by tastings held on Sundays. The next class will be held on July 10th, during Grand Opening weekend (tickets available here). New events as a result of the expansion will include “Industry” nights on Monday and pop-up dinners from local chefs. More details will be announced as they are confirmed.

In addition to the new tasting room, Second Self has two smaller rooms available for rental. For more information, please contact: tours@secondselfbeer.com.
