Atlanta Restaurants Entice Guests for Romantic Nights Out

There’s more to love than ever at Atlanta restaurants this Valentine’s Day. Atlanta chefs lure guests with a variety of sweet deals and swoon-worthy special menus. From Galentine’s night out at HOBNOB and multi-course meals at Aria and 5Church to live music and dancing at Sankranti and festive pop-up experiences at The Blind Cupid and Virtue Rooftop, Atlanta restaurants are spreading the love throughout Valentine’s week.  

Buckhead

Cupid is paying a visit to 5Church Buckhead on Valentine’s Day. The restaurant is offering a romantic four-course prix fixe menu with optional wine pairings for $100 per person with a half-bottle of Champagne per couple and $120 per person with a full bottle of Champagne per couple. Menu highlights include scallop crudo, sweet potato bisque, fig salad, shrimp and grits, duck confit tagliatelle, beet risotto, filet mignon, black cod, Springer Mountain Farms chicken with blue grits aligot, and dessert. Love is in the air at Aria in Buckhead. The elegant restaurant lures guests on Valentine’s Day with a four-course prix fixe menu with multiple options. The cost is $115 per person, excluding beverages, tax, and gratuity. Reservations start at 5:30 p.m. and can be made online

Gypsy Kitchen transports guests to the Mediterranean for a culinary adventure this Valentine’s Day. The Buckhead Village eatery will be showcasing its classic dinner menu along with curated chef features, innovative cocktails and a romantic setting. Chef features include a seafood lobster paella, shrimp, and crab fritters, grilled 16-ounce prime New York steak and a seared duck breast with brown butter parsnip purée. Make reservation online.

The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill whisks guests away to the beach for a relaxing date night this Valentine’s Day. The neighborhood beach house will feature its classic menu along with specials including sesame honey-glazed grilled salmon served over a bed of spinach aglio ($26.95) and grilled whole Maine lobster served on baked fettuccine with heirloom tomatoes and feta ($56.95). Love is making the rounds at The Blind Cupid, the Valentine’s pop-up bar at The Blind Pig Parlour Bar.  Hopeless romantics and the lovelorn alike will go wild for this popular experience that brings Valentine’s Day-themed sizzle with a menu of festive drinks, decadent menu snacks and over-the-top pink and floral décor. The Blind Cupid will be open for a brief fling beginning Jan. 20 through the end of February. In January, days and hours are Wednesday-Sunday from 5 p.m. until late. In February, The Blind Cupid will be open seven days a week including Galentine’s Day (Feb. 13) and Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14). Reservations are strongly recommended, and the festive venue may be reserved for small parties and special events any day of the week.

The Southern Gentleman presents a four-course meal on Feb. 14 that will sweep guests off their feet. Highlights include white truffle crostini, whipped pimento cheese and piccalilli relish; grilled jumbo shrimp with smoked tomato butter and sopping toast; white corn soup with black truffle and cornbread croutons; seared dayboat scallops with parsnip puree, savoy spinach and curry fried shallots; grilled pork tenderloin with sweet potato grits, spring vegetables, Marsala cream and demi; and choice of chocolate ganache tart or vanilla bean cheesecake for dessert. Italian wine bar Storico Vino is decorating with a “San Valentino” theme and bring back its heart-shaped ravioli over Feb. 7-17 (including Monday, Feb. 13 when normally closed to give guests and extra day to celebrate). The ricotta-pecorino cheese ravioli is served with brown butter, sage and pine nuts and is topped with Parmesan cheese. Menu highlights include scallop crudo, sweet potato bisque, fig salad, shrimp and grits, duck confit tagliatelle, beet risotto, filet mignon, black cod, Springer Mountain Farms chicken with blue grits aligot and dessert. The regular menu will not be offered. Reservations can be made online. Upstairs, Virtue Rooftop, the sexiest rooftop bar in Midtown, transforms into a Be My Valentine pop-up bar over Feb. 2-19. From 5 p.m. until late, guests will step into a world of romance boasting love-inspired cocktails perfect for couples or those embracing the single life; indulgent foods from sweet treats to personal fondue stations; and a rotating playlist guaranteed to set the mood. Be My Valentine pop-up is first come, first served for those 21 and older.

Livingston Restaurant + Bar, the Atlanta dining institution located inside the historic Georgian Terrace hotel, spreads the Valentine’s Day love over three evenings, Feb. 10 and 11 from 5-11 p.m. and Feb. 14 from 5-10 p.m. Executive chef Steven Meese has planned a prix fixe menu showcasing a mixture of local and European influences. Highlights include she-crab soup with sherry foam and chives; tuna crudo with ponzu, pickled cucumber and matcha crisp; filet and butter-poached lobster with saffron risotto and sugar snap peas; rack of lamb with pecan gremolata, farro, roasted winter vegetables and lamb jus; a special heart-shaped dessert and more. Poncey-Highland

Normally closed on Tuesday, Southern Belle + Georgia Boy welcomes diners on Valentine’s Day. Southern Belle will serve a five-course tasting menu with upgrades available, and Georgia Boy will serve its normal tasting menu. Make reservations for Southern Belle and Georgia Boy online.

Alpharetta/Johns Creek

Cattle Shed Wine & Steak Bar spreads the love with a variety of specials over Feb. 10-14. For starters, guests can splurge on caviar service boasting Osetra golden caviar with classic accoutrements and house-made blini ($130); add two glasses of Champagne for an additional $30. Oyster specials include four roasted West Coast oysters with Champagne foam ($17) and West Coast oysters with house mignonette and cocktail sauce (six for $19 or 12 for $35). The entrée special features braised short rib ossobuco for two with orzo pasta, crispy shallots, and jus ($79) and chocolate-covered strawberries (six for $8 or 10 for $10) or chocolate ganache hearts (two for $16) for dessert. Sparkling, white, red and a supersonic wine flight also will be available ($23-$60). Reservations can be made online.

Ocean & Acre is popping some bubbly and bringing on the seafood towers for an unforgettable Valentine’s Day. The Alpharetta eatery celebrating fare from land and sea is featuring its classic menu in addition to chef specials including pan-seared Chilean sea bass ($48), lemon rosemary rack of lamb ($52) and a surf and turf with a six-ounce center-cut filet and lobster tail ($45). In addition to wine specials, Ocean & Acre is mixing a special Cupid’s Kiss cocktail made with tequila, triple sec, lime, strawberry puree, coconut cream and garnished with coconut flaked rim and strawberry heart ($15). On Saturday, Feb. 11, Sankranti invites guests to a Valentine’s night to remember. Guests will start the night with a special four-course dinner in the candle-lit restaurant. Along with dinner, there will be live music, dancing and special giveaways. Crabapple

Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails invites guests to cozy up with a special someone over a three-course prix fixe dinner on Feb. 13 and 14. The unforgettable evening costs $85 per person. Reservations can be made online.

Multiple Locations

Valentine’s celebrations begin early at all HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern locations. The Atlantic Station and Halcyon locations are throwing a Galentine’s Party on Saturday, Feb. 11 with ladies’ night and Champagne flight specials, $5 sweetheart shots and DJ tunes starting at 8 p.m. Admission is free with reservation: Atlantic Station reservation and Halcyon reservation. Over Feb. 11-14, Brookhaven and Perimeter locations invite guests for dinner along with Champagne flight specials and $5 sweetheart shots. Marlow’s Tavern sets forth a special four-course Valentine’s Day menu for lovebirds. Among the options are jumbo lump crab cake, warm brie fondue, classic Caesar salad, grilled center-cut filet with broccoli casserole, pumpkin-crusted trigger fish and warm molten chocolate cake. NaanStop gets in on the Valentine’s Day action with a February buy one, get one free promotion. Diners who purchase an entrée, side and a drink will get a free entrée for their date or friend. Naanstop serves a mouthwatering menu of naan wraps, rice bowls and fresh salads and more. NaanStop’s promotion is available only to loyalty members and runs through Feb.15; guests can sign up for the program when checking out.

For those looking for a lowkey, romantic Valentine’s Day without reservations, waits and crowds, Postino WineCafe’s date night to-go packs are just the solution. Both 5Church Midtown and 5Church Buckhead will be open on Nov. 24 from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. serving a bountiful Thanksgiving buffet. Buffet highlights include herb-roasted turkey and prime rib carving stations and an array of fresh salads, side dishes, and desserts including apple cider donuts and chocolate pecan pie bars. 5Church Midtown curates the perfect Thanksgiving with its family-style takeout packages: dinner for four is $250, dinner for six is $350 and dinner for eight is $450. Packages include slow-roasted turkey and sorghum and brown sugar-glazed ham; sides such as mac and cheese, pecan-glazed green beans, and cornbread stuffing; and a choice of one dessert from chocolate pecan pie or pumpkin cheesecake. Revival is selling Thanksgiving sides starting Nov. 7 for pickup on Wednesday, Nov. 23 from 4-7:30 p.m. Among the featured sides are collard greens, cornbread dressing, green bean casserole, honey-molasses carrots, and roasted garlic mashed potatoes. Southside

Wood’s Chapel BBQ on Georgia Avenue in Summerhill is serving Thanksgiving to-go. The a la carte menu includes a whole smoked turkey with gravy for $95 and a smoked turkey breast for $65. Cattle Shed is hitting all the marks with its four-course traditional Thanksgiving meal. The Alpharetta eatery will be open from 11:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. offering a four-course meal for $95 a person (plus tax and gratuity) and a kids’ plate for $19.95 (plus tax and gratuity). Menu highlights include an amuse-bouche of prosciutto deviled eggs, beet and pear salad with dates, eight-ounce filet mignon, and halibut almondine with almonds and brown butter. Each meal comes with a large side such as sweet potato mash with brûlée marshmallows, baked three-cheese mac and cheese, or asparagus with hollandaise. The dessert options include caramel cake, pumpkin crème brûlée, and sweet potato cheesecake. Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails is offering a three-course prix-fixe menu from executive chef Derek Dollar from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Menu highlights include butternut squash bisque with maple crème fraîche and pumpkin seed granola; applewood smoked turkey with sage-corn spoonbread, green bean casserole, blood orange-cranberry relish, and Madeira turkey gravy; shrimp and grits with red and yellow bell peppers, smoked bacon, mushroom scallions, tomatoes, lemon butter sauce, and cheddar stone-ground grits; and dark chocolate pie with salted caramel. For those wanting a Thanksgiving meal with all the fixings, Milton’s Thanksgiving feast boasts a 12- to 14-pound apple-brined and smoked turkey with one quart of a variety of sides for $195 (early-bird pricing of $100 if ordered by Oct. 31). The turkey comfortably feeds six to eight guests with sides feeding two to four. A sides pack of five savory sides also is available for $100 (early-bird pricing of $80 if ordered by Oct. 31). Quantities are limited; orders may be placed online by Friday, Nov. 18 for pickup on Wednesday, Nov. 23 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

The Inman Park community bar and restaurant will be open on Thanksgiving Day beginning at 6pm and offer guests a $25 Thanksgiving plate featuring crowd favorites for the holiday alongside the day’s football games, drink specials and a limited food menu of burgers, mac & cheese, wings and fries. Le Bilboquet will be open from 1-8pm on Thanksgiving Day and serve a three-course prix-fixe menu to enjoy at the restaurant. Menu highlights include Beau Soleil Oysters and Roasted Butternut Squash & Maple Syrup Soup for starters, Cajun Chicken with french fries, mixed green salad & Beurre Blanc and Traditional Roasted Turkey with homemade stuffing, dauphine potatoes, honey bacon, brussel sprouts, pommery mustard butternut squash puree, sautéed green beans, cranberry sauce & gravy on the entree side and Brown Sugar Walnut Tart with caramel ice cream for dessert. The Award-Winning Restaurant Welcomes Michelin Star Guest Chef Nicolai Tram
to Collaborate With Executive Chef Freddy Money Throughout the Month

 
Known for its elevated dining experiences, Atlas, located at the St. Regis in Atlanta, continues to lead the way in Atlanta’s culinary scene. This November, it plans to continue its Four Hands Collaborative Dinner Series, along with introducing a brand new dining series, Atlas Away. Both events will feature Atlas’s Executive Chef Freddy Money and Michelin Star Guest Chef Nicolai Tram from Knystaforsen in Sweden.
 
“I am thrilled for the opportunity to work alongside Chef Tram,” said Chef Money. “Working together, collaborating on food and shared experiences, will no doubt produce a dining experience unlike any other, and I’m excited for the opportunity to share that with guests.”
 
The Four Hands Dinner, hosted at Atlas, will be held Nov. 16-18, from 5-10 p.m. At $250/person, guests can expect three nights of unforgettable cuisine with a menu offering a taste of the forests of Sweden and each course highlighting the freshest ingredients from the natural surroundings. On Nov. 19, guests have the chance to attend the first official Atlas Away. A new venture, this exciting event is meant to recreate the Atlas experience in unexpected locations both near and far. The first Atlas Away will be held in the woods at Chattahoochee Hills, with well-known Atlantan Dominique Love, enjoying the wooded backdrop of CERES, a soon-to-launch culinary community. Cooked over an open fire, paying homage to the concept behind Chef Tram’s restaurant in Sweden, the dinner is $460/person (including tax + gratuity) and takes place from 3-7 p.m., featuring local ingredients and holistically sourced products to showcase the Nordic cuisine. Guests will be seated at outside tables surrounding the chefs, offering a dining experience like no other. Latin Restaurant Weeks (LRW) celebrates its inaugural year to drive awareness to Atlanta’s Latin chefs, restaurant
owners, caterers, and bartenders while spotlighting the diversity of Latin flavors offered throughout the city. In partnership
with Grubhub and Feed the Soul Foundation, local restaurants will feature special dishes and menus showcasing a wide
range of Latin American/Hispanic businesses.


The “Tour de Sabor” campaign – tour of the flavors – encourages residents to expand their palate during the two-week
event beginning on Friday, November 4 through Friday, November 18. LRW will bring prominence to the variety of Latin
regions represented in the greater Atlanta area. Participants will highlight menu selections that represent their fare’s
authenticity and culture. While each style of cooking implements unique methods with region-specific produce and spices,
all Latin/Hispanic foods present bold flavors and evokes feelings of nostalgia.


Latin Restaurant Weeks encourages participants to create an experience outside of their traditional offerings – reintroduce
discontinued features, prix fixe menus and/or developing meal-beverage pairings – to pique the public’s interest. This
method may assist business owners and chefs with establishing new dining opportunities in an overall effort to expand
their customer base. This year’s participants feature an authentic taste of Venezuelan gastronomy at Arepita Cafe or
Mango Latino Grill, savory dishes from the Dominican Republic at Mamajuana Restaurant & Lounge, or robust
Mexican fare at El Taco Veloz.


Atlanta is one of the fastest-growing regions for Latinx growth with over 49% of all foreign-born residents in the city
identifying as Hispanic and/or Latinx – and expected to be home to over 820,000 Latines by 2040. The amount of growth
within the Latinx community is due to the ever-growing business scene in the Atlanta metropolitan area. LRW partners
with Hispanic entrepreneurs and professionals of the culinary industry to elevate them through the platform created for
aspiring and existing Latinx hospitality professionals. Co-founded by Karinn Andréa Chavarria, the campaign originated
in Houston in 2019 and was designed to highlight the contributions of Latinos in the culinary industry as an integral part of
the local community.


“As we close our National Hispanic Heritage Month, it’s crucial to highlight and support Latinx businesses outside of a
30-day awareness period,” explains Chavarria. “We witnessed significant successful markers for our participants in
Houston, Chicago and Miami. As a resident of Atlanta, we are especially excited to add the city to our campaign by
contributing to the growth of the city’s cultural and social influences. Our platform showcases varying Latin countries in
addition to the distinct regions within those territories while highlighting the complexities of their cuisine. LRW’s ‘Tour de
Sabor’ provides a path for Atlantans to discover a hidden gem or visit their favorite restaurant, coffee shop, food truck,
bakery, and caterer.”


LRW gives participants a voice and increased visibility. Since its first year, a majority of LRW participating restaurants
reported seeing up to a 20% increase in foot traffic as well as an increase in social media engagement, along with
awareness among new customers during and following the campaign.
