ATLANTA RESTAURANTS BRING OUT THE OLÉ FOR CINCO DE MAYO

Authentic Dishes, Creative Cocktails and Live Entertainment Mark the Festive Holiday on May 5

Cinco de Mayo is a popular holiday celebrated on May 5 every year to commemorate the Mexican Army’s victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. In Atlanta, many restaurants and bars offer specials and celebrations to mark the occasion. From authentic Mexican cuisine to creative cocktails, there’s something for everyone. Whether looking to indulge in a delicious margarita or try some spicy salsa, Atlanta’s Cinco de Mayo celebrations are not to be missed.

For the most happening fiesta in Buckhead, guests can head to Chido & Padre’s. The lively eatery will open at 2 p.m. on May 5 and stay open late serving its menu of authentic Mexican dishes along with drink features. A DJ amps up the fun from 6-10 p.m. Make reservations online.

Guests can start the dining experience with seasoned elote, and for the main course choose from the variety of tacos topped with fresh meats or quesadillas created with ingredients sourced from Mexico. While the meal is being prepared, Rreal Tacos spices up the fiesta with a selection of handcrafted margaritas or other cocktails. Reservations can be made online.

For those who keep glasses raised, Tin Lizzy’s Cantina celebrates for five days with Cinco Days of Cinco. From May 3-7, all locations are offering $7 El Jimador margaritas and 32-ounce Dos Equis drafts for $7.  Guests can take the fiesta home with to-go orders placed online.
